Integrated Test of Toefl requires the tester to read, listen and write in the section. It's still a very tough section as speaking.

How is the test conducted??

Read a passage in 5 minutess.

Listen a lecture about the passage. (The passage will be temporarily disappear during the session.)

Then, write the summary of the lecture in 20 minutes. (The passage appears again.)

What should I pay attention??

1. keep in mind the key words in the lecture: key words is possible points in your summary. So, we need to focus on the key words and its following contexts. The key words may be "One finding...", "Another ...", "on the other hand, ..."

2. do not add your opinion in the summary: do not write what the speaker does not say in the lecture and your opinions or experiences. Also, do not conclude in the end.

What can I do to improve the test?

1. Listening is still important.

2. A good skill to note.

3. note subjects in the passage.

4. Prepare two modules, supporting and challenging, of the beginning.

Examples

     The lecture is about how the reward system affects employees' productives. In the beginning, the professor questions the effect of rewards in the reading, and point out that reward system has counter effects.
     First, employees do not like the system of reward. People like to be respected for their extra hard working, not to get reward. They'd like to get better paid, rather than a extra bonus.
     Second, there's no prove that support the improvement of productives when a company conducts a reward system. The professor says that there are many studies showing that reward systems decrease the productives, because it make workers unhappy and dissapointed. In one case, the reward system evaluate employee's performance, and this make workers feel that they are controlled  by the system. Also, if people failed to get rewards, they will think that lossing rewards is a punishment to them.
     Finally, the reward system may encourage employees to conceal their oponion about their supervisor's fails. Employees afraid that their values in the reward system may be depress because they point out their supervisor's failure. Therefore, they choose not to present their suggentions.
